
No. 2 Hoosiers Fall in Heartbreaker at No. 5 Wake Forest in Double Overtime

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team fell on the road at No. 5 Wake Forest, 2-1, in double-overtime on Friday night at Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C.
KEY MOMENTS
• After a Wake Forest (1-0) goal in the 48th minute gave the Demon Deacons a 1-0 lead, Indiana (0-1) equalized in the 73rd minute.
• MF Griffin Dorsey scored from the right side from 10-yards out on a great one-time shot. MF Spencer Glass played D Andrew Gutman up the left side, allowing Gutman to fire a cross on the ground to the right side, finding Dorsey in space.
• After a scoreless first overtime period, the Demon Deacons' Kyle Holcomb netted the match winner with just 3:08 left in the match.
NOTABLES
• For the match, IU out-shot Wake Forest, 12-8, getting six shots on-goal to five. Corner kicks were 5-4 in favor of WF.
• Dorsey's goal was his first of the season and the fourth of his career.
• Gutman and Glass each earned an assist on Dorsey's goal in the 73rd minute.
• Indiana held Wake Forest without a shot in the first half.
• The loss was the first in the regular season since Oct. 4, 2016 (23 matches) when the team dropped a road contest to No. 1 Notre Dame.
