On Ball State...
"They're a very talented football team. They proved that last weekend when they went up to South Bend and played really, really well against a good Notre Dame team. I was impressed with how hard they played, how well-coached they were and their execution in that environment. Sometimes that doesn't happen, but it got our attention for sure. Coach Neu is doing a great job and as you mentioned the quarterback is a special player, really throws it well, can run it, command of the offense. He made some plays last time he was here as a young buck. James Gilbert, a great running back, and those two players are really good Indiana high school players that have gone on to have a great career. They are going to come here very inspired and play extremely well"
On who will be challenged in week three...
"I was proud of the (O-line) group, but that is in the past and a great thing to grow from and learn from, we still made a lot of mistakes. Was proud of the response from both the defense and the offensive line. To me, it's the secondary. Really, they will be tested for sure. We still had contested balls but gave up some catches I didn't want us to give up at critical times, critical third downs. I think probably third down defense for our guys to be able to elevate that and continue. I know the weather conditions were such last week - but third down offense is going to be huge in games like this and continue to clean up things on special teams. Really gave them a tremendous charge that those critical errors cannot happen. We have to be on point on all three phases."
On what he wants to see from Peyton Ramsey on Saturday...
"Just keep making plays. To me, he's a playmaker for us and he can get first downs with his arm, his legs and with his brain. I just think these are three things he has to be able to do. To continue to improve, I want him to play better this week than he did last week. I want him to play better than the week before that. It's a continual climb of expectations for our program and for us to put all four quarters together in all three phases."
On the fans...
"There's no question our fans are huge. That's why I did what I did at the end. I went over to the student section to thank them. I appreciate it so much for them to stick it out. Our band stayed, cheerleaders, fans. Just so many people stayed. It's hard to sit through that for four hours of just constant downpour and it was chilly. I respect and thank them so much for doing that and we need more. We do. It's going to be a beautiful day and we need the place packed and cheering loud. It affects them and encourages us and it's going to help us be the difference to get us over the top."
