Women’s Tennis Concludes Hoosier Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team opened their fall portion of their schedule by hosting the Hoosier Classic, Sept. 28-30 at the IU Varsity Tennis Courts.
Notable
• Senior Madison Appel went 3-0 on the weekend with two wins in singles and one win in doubles.
• Freshman Somer Henry, playing her first event for the Hoosiers won two of her three singles matches.
• On Saturday, the Hoosiers won five of their seven doubles matches.
• Caitlin Bernard and Natalie Whalen won two of their three doubles matches for the tournament.

"It was good to get out there this weekend. We have only had two weeks of practice, but the team worked very hard over the summer and you can see their improvement. I'm looking forward to getting back to work and for the season ahead."
