
IU’s Gutman, Muse Earn Big Ten and National Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – After helping the No. 4-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team beat a pair of ranked opponents this past weekend at the 2018 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic, both Andrew Gutman and Trey Muse earned Big Ten and national honors.
Gutman was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the National Player of the Week by College Soccer News and also to both National Teams of the Week by College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer.
Muse was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and also earned Honorable-Mention National Team of the Week honors from Top Drawer Soccer.
Gutman had an outstanding weekend for the Hoosiers, scoring the game-winning goals against both No. 22 Dartmouth on Friday and No. 18 UConn on Sunday. The Hinsdale, Ill. native also had an assist on Friday, helping him earn Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the 2018 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.
Muse posted a pair of shutouts on the weekend, pushing his career total to 20. The Louisville, Ky. native had three saves, including a critical stop on a breakaway, in the team's 1-0 win over No. 18 UConn on Sunday.
The No. 4-ranked Hoosiers will host VCU on Friday, Sept. 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET in Bloomington at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
