Indiana University is in its 119th season of competition in men's basketball. The Hoosiers are ranked 22nd in the AP Poll and 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Hoosiers are coming off a 74-63 loss at #2 Michigan. The Terrapins have won 6 of 7 after a win at Minnesota, 82-67.
THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his second season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 28-18 record and 12-10 ledger in the Big Ten since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 167-81 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Maryland is led by Mark Turgeon who is in his eighth year of leading the Terrapins.

IU is rated 15th in the NET. IU is in a stretch where it will play 6 of 8 on the road from January 6 to February 2. The Hoosiers completed their first undefeated calendar month (6-0 in December) since going 7-0 in November 2012.
Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Both are among 50 players listed as candidates for the 2019 Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award and Langford is among 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year watch list. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. Morgan also is up for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award.
Morgan earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week accolades after his record-setting 35-point effort against Butler. He has scored 1,040 career points. Langford's 20-point effort in his first Big Ten game is the most by an IU true freshman in their first conference outing since Eric Gordon had 25 in his first B1G contest at Iowa in 2008. He is the only Hoosier to score in double digits every game and has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times. including this week. He averaged 22.5 points, 6 rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Hoosiers against Illinois and Michigan.
Coach Archie Miller's squad is the top shooting team in the Big Ten, and 2nd in the country, making 51.9% of its shots.
The Hoosier are 8th in the country in 2-point field goal percentage at 59.2%.
IU is 11th in the nation in effective field goal percentage at 57.6%.
Morgan had the second triple-double in program history (Steve Downing vs. Michigan, 1971, 28-17-10 blocks) with 10 points, 10 boards and 10 assists against Jacksonville. He is the Hoosiers first forward or center ever to notch 10 assists in a game. He followed that with his 6th double-double of the season (15th career), a 15-point, 10-board effort against Illinois.
