PREVIEW: Hoosiers Open Season with Home Doubleheader

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's tennis team will begin its 2019 season with a doubleheader inside the IU Tennis Center.

A Look at the Cardinals
Ball State will also be opening their season on Sunday in Bloomington. The school is looking to build off a 14-11 campaign in 2018. Although, only two of their wins came away from home. The Hoosiers and Cardinals also faced off in the first match of last season, where IU came out on top with a 6-1 victory.
A Look at the Rockets
Toledo comes to Bloomington after beginning their season with a match against Purdue on Saturday afternoon. In 2018, the Rockets posted a record of 3-17 overall and 1-10 on the road. The last time these two squads faced off was Feb. 25, 2015 when the Hoosiers won 4-1.

2018 in Review
IU is going into 2019 looking to build off a 15-12 mark in 2018 that included a 7-4 conference record and eight wins at home. The Hoosiers also knocked off three ranked teams on their 2018 slate.
Hoosiers in The Rankings
When the ITA Singles Rankings were released in November, the Hoosiers found themselves on their twice. Junior Bennett Crane was ranked No. 96 and junior Zac Brodney came in at No. 110 on the list.
Next Up
After these matches, Indiana will take the road for the next three matches beginning next Sunday at Dartmouth. Less than a week later, the Hoosiers will go west to Los Angeles to face UCLA and either San Diego or Mississippi for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
