Appel Earns Big Ten Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– Following her performance at the IU Winter Invitational, Indiana senior Madison Appel has earned Big Ten Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today.
Appel, a native of Locust Valley, N.Y. completed a perfect 8-0 weekend at the IU Winter Invitational.
Appel teamed up with Jelly Bozovic to go 6-0 in doubles competition and added two wins in singles play.
For the season, Appel has posted an 8-2 record in singles and an 8-1 mark in doubles with Bozovic.
Appel is pursuing a degree in communications at Indiana.
Appel and the Hoosiers host Xavier and Cincinnati at the IU Tennis Center on Saturday Jan. 26.
