Men’s DMR Sets New School Record on Night One of the Indiana Relays

BLOOMINGTON, IND.—It was a record-breaking night for the men's distance medley relay team as they broke the school and Gladstein Fieldhouse record with a time 9:27.30. Daniel Michalski, Zubin Muncherji, Cooper Williams, and Kyle Mau now lead the NCAA with the fastest time so far this season. The time of 9:27.30 is also the seventh fastest time ever ran by a collegiate team on a 200m indoor track.
On the women's side of the DMR, the relay team of Grace Walther, De'Aira Robertson, Joely Pinkston, and Josey Korte snagged top honors in the event with a time of 11:46.90.
Maggie Allen continued the pace in the 5000m as she clocked a time of 16:01.25 to take third place.
De'Aira Robertson was the lone Hoosier to compete in the 60m hurdles prelims as she placed fourth overall with a time of 8.91, advancing her to the finals of the event. On the men's side Christian Goines (8.48) and Shaton Vaughn (8.49) both placed in the top eight to advance them to Saturday's finals.
It was an all Indiana lineup in the open mile as Dustin Horter ran unattached and nabbed first place with a time of 4:06.16. Matthew Schadler (4:08.54), Arjun Jha (4:10.69), Hunter Moore (4:11.19) and Jake Gebhardt (4:12.72) also ran unattached and rounded out the top five, respectively.
In field events, Adam Coulon saw another first-place finish in pole vault as he cleared a height of 5.45m (17' 10.5") on his first attempt.
Nick Lane notched a top three finish in the weight throw after throwing a distance of 18.87m (61' 11").
