Hoosiers Look to Build On Early Season Success at Power Five Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Track & Field returns to the track on the road in Ann Arbor, Mich.. The Hoosiers are set to compete at the Power Five Invite on Friday Feb. 1 and Saturday Feb. 2 inside the U-M Indoor Track Building. Men's 60m portion of the Heptathlon will kick off the invite, starting Friday at 12 p.m.. Action will resume on Saturday with the men's 60m hurdles as part of the heptathlon at 9:30 a.m.
The two-day meet will feature teams from the Power Five conferences around the country. These teams include Michigan, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin.
Meet Schedule
Friday's portion of the meet will consist of 13 events. The women's pentathlon, men's heptathlon, one field event and 10 track events.
Track Schedule of Events—60m hurdles (prelims), 60m (prelims), 5000m, DMR, 600m 200m (women), 400m, 800m (women), mile (women), and 3000m (women).
Field Schedule of events— Women's weight throw prelims and finals.
Saturday will feature 16 events. The conclusion of the women's heptathlon, nine track events and six field events.
Track schedule of events—60m hurdles (finals), 60m (finals), mile, 1000m (men), 400m, 800m, 200m, 3000m, and 4x400 relay.
Field Schedule of Events—High jump, weight throw invite, shot put invite, long jump invite, pole vault, triple jump invite.
Meet Information
Admission to the Power Five Invite is free to the public. The meet will broadcast live on FloTrack and Big Ten Network Plus.

School Record Falls
The men's distance medley relay team competed in their first meet of the season at Indiana Relays. Daniel Michalski, Zubin Muncherji, Copper Williams, and Kyle Mau set the bar high for the season as they broke a school record on their way to running the fastest time in the nation so far this season with a time of 9:27.30.
Keeping Up with the Hoosiers
After breaking the school record, the men's DMR team currently holds the fastest time in the NCAA so far this season. The women's 4x800 meter relay team held onto their No. 1 spot another week after running a time of 8:54.20 at the Gladstein Invite. The relay team consists of Hannah Stoffel, Jenna Barker, Bailey Hertenstein, and Haley Harris.
Rikkoi Brathwaite and Zubin Muncherji have seen success in their college careers, but also have had success in their home countries. Brathwaite is a native of the British Virgin Islands and now holds the country's record in the 60-meter with a time of 6.68. Muncherji calls Singapore home and holds four records in various events including the 200m (22.60), 400m (47.82), 500m (1;04.38), and 600m (1:21.99).
In the Rankings
The USTFCCCA released their weekly national ratings index on Monday Jan. 28. The Hoosier men climbed two poll spots over the week to come in at No. 12.
In the regional rankings, both the men's and women's squads topped the Great Lakes Region. On the men's side, two other Big Ten schools lead their region, Penn State (Mid-Atlantic) and Nebraska (Midwest). Penn State is the only other Big Ten program ranked first in their region.
