Indiana University is in its 119th season of competition in men's basketball. The Hoosiers are ranked 21st in the AP Poll and 22nd in the coaches poll. IU is in the midst of a 7-game winning streak after defeating Illinois, 73-65. The Hoosiers and #2/4 Michigan join Michigan State as the only teams to start the B1G season 3-0.
THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his second season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 28-17 record and 12-9 ledger in the Big Ten since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 167-80 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Michigan is guided by John Beilein, who is in his 12th season in Ann Arbor and has a 262-143 record with the Wolverines.

• IU is rated 21st in the NET. IU will play 6 of 8 on the road from January 6 to February 2. The Hoosiers completed their first undefeated calendar month (6-0 in December) since going 7-0 in November 2012.
• Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Both are among 50 players listed as candidates for the 2019 Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award and Langford is among 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year watch list. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. Langford has twice already been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Morgan also is up for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award.
• Morgan earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week accolades after his record-setting 35-point effort against Butler. He has scored 1,040 career points. Langford's 20-point effort in his first Big Ten game is the most by an IU true freshman in their first conference outing since Eric Gordon had 25 in his first B1G contest at Iowa in 2008. He is the only Hoosier to score in double digits every game and has twice been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. He had a career-high 28 points against Illinois and is averaging 21.7 points in league play.
• Coach Archie Miller's squad is the top shooting team in the Big Ten, and 2nd in the country, making 52.6% of its shots.
• The Hoosier are 4th in the country in 2-point field goal percentage at 60.3%.
IU is 9th in the nation in effective field goal percentage at 58.3%.
• Morgan had the second triple-double in program history (Steve Downing vs. Michigan, 1971, 28-17-10 blocks) with 10 points, 10 boards and 10 assists against Jacksonville. He is the Hoosiers first forward or center ever to notch 10 assists in a game. He followed that with his 6th double-double of the season (15th career), a 15-point, 10-board effort against Illinois.
• The Hoosiers last defeated an undefeated team in January when it beat 16-0 Wisconsin in Bloomington, 75-72, in 2014.
• Guard Rob Phinisee is the top freshman three-point shooter in the Big Ten making 44.8% of his attempts and. Guard Romeo Langford leads Big Ten freshman in scoring (18.3) and minutes played (33.1) and is 4th among frosh in blocked shots and 5th in rebounds, FG percentage, free throw percentage, assists and steals.
• All Big Ten forward Juwan Morgan improved his scoring from his freshman year to junior year by 14.1 points, the highest of any active Big Ten player. He played that entire first year with a separated shoulder and managed to help the team win a Big Ten title.
• Indiana is the only Big Ten school to win 2 outright regular season titles this decade (2013, 2016).
• After Indiana won 5 of 6 meetings from 2013-16, the Wolverines have won 4 straight in the series.
• This will be the third ranked team IU has played this season. They defeated Marquette in the Gavitt Games and lost to DUke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
• In league play, IU is 2nd in steals with 26 and blocked shots (5.0).
