BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Hoosiers will head east to College Park, Md., to face Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised on BTN.
Each week, we compile quotes and storylines from the past week and preview the upcoming one.
Head Coach Tom Allen
"Big Ten opportunity on the road, and Coach Locksley has done a tremendous job there, a lot of respect for him. Just an unbelievably athletic football team that we're about to play in all phases, and speed everywhere on the field. Got a lot of new faces. They've got some really talented transfers and some really, really good players. We have to have a great week of preparation. Need to continue this time of year. After Game 6, just keep getting guys healthier and working through that process. Going to have to be on top of our game in all three phases. This is a very important game for us, and it's going to demand our full attention and absolute very, very best preparation and execution on game day."
QB Michael Penix Jr.
"I feel more composed. More comfortable. Being able to play a few games, got a few games under my belt. I'm really enjoying the offense as well. That's one thing that can really help. I'm loving what's going on and it's fun just going out and winning."
LB Cam Jones
"As a defense, we knew what we had to come down and do. We were excited and had tremendous focus throughout the week. I'm happy for D-Mac (Demarcus Elliott) and Reakwon (Jones). They made a big play and set the tone for the rest of the game."
WR Nick Westbrook
"We have two away games, but the focus is on Maryland to start out. They're a great team, they started off real hot. I know they have an explosive offense and can make plays. We just know that we have to be on our best and do everything we can to prepare to be able to beat them come Saturday."
LB Micah McFadden
"My body has gotten a lot bigger and just taking on bigger running backs. Throughout the season, I've gotten better with my tackling. And as a team, I think we've done that as well."
OL Caleb Jones
"I've really loved the way that our guys have stepped up. Whoever it is that's had their number called has stepped in and done good things. I think that speaks volumes for Coach Hiller and the offensive line as a unit."
DL Michael Ziemba
"One game at a time. Every week, we try to be 1-0. That's all we want to do is win. (Monday) we had our walk-through, got a bunch of plays in, corrections, and (Tuesday) we'll be in full pads, keep getting after it and keep learning."
