Maher Named to Weekly Top Drawer Soccer Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana men's soccer sophomore Jack Maher was selected to the Top Drawer Soccer team of the week after leading the Hoosier defense to back-to-back shutouts last week.
Maher was instrumental in eliminating the aerial attack of the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats in a 0-0 draw between ranked teams on Oct. 9. Maher anchored the defense and played all 110 minutes from the centerback position. Kentucky managed 14 shots in the contest, but only put four on frame against the Indiana pressure.
Indiana blanked the Michigan Wolverines, 1-0, in regulation on Oct. 13 for the team's second-straight shutout. The Wolverines compiled just nine shot attempts in the loss as two were placed on target.
Maher was also credited with an assist on junior Spencer Glass' game-winning tally in the 67th minute against the Wolverines. The assist was his sixth point of the season (two goals, two assists).
The No. 4-ranked Hoosiers will be in action at 6:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 18 at Maryland. The game will be televised on BTN.
