TEAM
• With its second-straight Big Ten victory, Indiana evened its Big record at 2-2 and improved to 5-2 overall.
• IU is off to its best seven-game start since 2007 (5-2).
• The Hoosiers won their second-consecutive game against Maryland and their fourth in the last five meetings.
• Indiana holds a 6-2 advantage in the series with a 3-1 road mark.
• Senior left tackle Coy Cronk (injured), fifth-year senior linebacker Reakwon Jones, fifth-year senior right guard Simon Stepaniak and fifth-year senior wide receiver Nick Westbrook served as game captains. The four are the team's season captains.
• Maryland won the coin toss and elected to defer. IU is 4-2 when receiving the ball first.
OFFENSE
• Indiana reached 30 points for the sixth time in seven games, 500 yards (520) for the third time and 300 passing yards (334) for the third time.
• IU scored (TD) on its opening offensive possession for the fourth time (3 TDs) in seven games.
• Redshirt junior quarterback Peyton Ramsey finished the game completing 20-of-27 passes (74.1 percent) for 193 yards and a 26-yard touchdown. He added 46 yards on the ground on eight carries.
• Ramsey moved into a tie for fifth in school history with 35 career TD passes and sixth with 759 career attempts.
• Fifth-year senior wide receiver Donavan Hale hauled in his third touchdown of the season on a 28-yard strike from redshirt freshman quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with 13:03 to play in the first quarter. The TD grab was the 11th of his career.
• Fifth-year senior Nick Westbrook has racked up 123 career receptions for 1,948 yards after he compiled six catches for 75 yards and the 26-yard score.
• His second-quarter touchdown gave him four on the season and 15 for his career. His career mark moves him into a tie with Trent Smock and Ted Bolser for seventh in program history.
• Westbrook made the 30th start of his career.
• Redshirt sophomore tight end Peyton Hendershot established a career-high with six receptions for a career-best 95 yards.
• Sophomore running back Stevie Scott III carried the ball 18 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns. The 100-yard game was the eighth of his career, second of the season, and the third time in his career in which he secured at least two-straight games of 100-plus yards. Scott has tallied four multi-touchdown games in his career.
• The scores marked his sixth of the season and 16th of his career. Scott has registered a rushing TD in nine of the last 12 games and has totaled 12 scores in those 12 games.
• Scott set a career-high with five receptions for a career-best 36 yards.
• Junior Ty Fryfogle posted a season-high 63 yards on four catches.
• Junior Harry Crider made his first-career start (7th overall) at center.
DEFENSE
• After yielding 239 yards of total offense in the first half, the Hoosiers defense buckled down and held Maryland to 144 yards in the second half. The Terrapins tallied just 48 total yards of offense and committed two turnovers in the final quarter of the game.
• Redshirt sophomore safety Juwan Burgess matched a career-best outing with four solo tackles. His fourth-quarter forced fumble was his second of the season and his career. He recovered the loose ball for his second-career fumble recovery and his first of 2019.
• Sophomore cornerback Reese Taylor sealed the game with his first-career interception. The pick came with 1:00 left in the game as Maryland was attempting to drive in for the winning score. Reese also totaled a career-best three solo stops in the game.
• Sophomore linebacker Micah McFadden set a career-high with five solo tackles. His five stops tied for the team lead.
• Sophomore husky Jamar Johnson set a career-high with two tackles for loss and matched a career-best with one sack. The sack marked the second of his career. He finished the game with three tackles (2 solo).
• Redshirt junior husky Marcelino Ball recorded his first sack of the season in the third quarter. He has 3.5 sacks in his career. Ball also tallied five total tackles, tied for the team lead, with four solo stops.
• Senior safety Khalil Bryant was the third Hoosier with five stops, which matched a career-best.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• Indiana's career field goal percentage leader Logan Justus continued his perfect season with a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 34-yarder in the fourth quarter. He is a perfect 9-for-9 on field goal attempts and 27-for-27 on extra points this year.
• Justus is now 24-of-27 on field goals (88.9 percent) and 59-of-60 on PATs (98.3 percent). His 24 career field goals are tied for ninth in program history and his 59 PATs are 10th on the program's career list.
• The McCordsville, Ind., native has converted nine-straight field goals, a career-best streak, and a mark that ranks tied for the sixth-longest streak in IU history.
