Game Notes: Indiana Travels to Nebraska

Setting The Scene
• Indiana (5-2, 2-2 B1G East) closes out its two-game road stretch at Nebraska (4-3, 2-2 B1G West) on Saturday, Oct. 26. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Memorial Stadium (85,458; FieldTurf) on BTN.
• IU heads to Lincoln for the first time since NU joined the Big Ten and the first time since 1977.
• Saturday marks the second meeting between the two programs since the Cornhuskers joined the league.
• Nebraska earned a 27-22 victory in Bloomington on Oct. 15, 2016.
• Indiana leads the all-time series, 9-8-3, with a 7-5-2 advantage in Lincoln.
The Coaches
• Tom Allen was named Indiana's head coach on Dec. 1, 2016, and made his debut at the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl against Utah. The New Castle, Ind., native joined IU as associate head coach/defense on Jan. 15, 2016. In Allen's two seasons as head coach, 21 Hoosiers have earned All-Big Ten honors and 15 have been drafted or invited to NFL camps. (full bio on page 18)
• Former Cornhusker Scott Frost is 8-11 in his second year as Nebraska head coach. Frost guided Central Florida to a 19-7 record from 2016-17, including a perfect 13-0 mark in his final season.
News & Notes
• Indiana is off to its best seven-game start since opening with a 5-2 mark in 2007.
• IU has won back-to-back B1G games for the first time since 2017 (at Illinois - Nov. 11 and Rutgers - Nov. 18).
• The Hoosiers reached 30 points for the sixth time in seven games, 500 yards (520) for the third time and 300 passing yards (334) for the third time at Maryland last weekend.
• Stevie Scott III went over 100 yards for the second-straight game and the eighth-time in his career, which shares 11th in program history. Scott finished with 108 yards on 18 carries (6.0 average).
• He reached the end zone twice and has 12 rushing touchdowns over his last 12 games.
• After posting 118 yards (39.3 per game) on 37 carries (3.2) over the first three weeks, Scott has 435 yards (108.8 per game) on 69 carries (6.3) the last four weeks.
• Safety Juwan Burgess (fumble at 3:42) and cornerback Reese Taylor (interception at 1:00) helped seal the 34-28 victory with a pair of takeaways in the final 3:42.
• Indiana is T-2nd in the B1G in defensive TDs (2, T-7th nationally), 3rd in opponent 3rd-down conversions (29.8, 10th), 4th in pass defense (168.7, T-9th), 6th in scoring defense (20.9, 32nd), pass defense efficiency (117.0, 31st) and opponent 1st downs (17.1, T-21st), T-6h in sacks (2.57, T-37th) and 7th in total defense (297.0, 18th).
• IU is 1st in the B1G in sacks allowed (1.29, T-20th), 2nd in total offense (449.9, 31st) and pass offense (307.3, 16th), T-2nd in 1st downs (24.3, T-19th), 3rd in time of possession (33:41, 10th) and completion percentage (70.1, 11th), T-3rd in pass TDs (17, T-20th), 4th in 3rd-down conversions (47.3, 18th), 5th in pass efficiency (155.2, 25th) and 6th in scoring offense (33.4, T-40th).
• The Hoosiers are one of four teams with a pair of whitewashings in 2019 - Wisconsin (4), Florida (2) and Georgia (2).
• Indiana owns four shutouts since the start of the 2017 season, which shares second nationally with Alabama and Georgia, one behind Wisconsin.
• Fifth-year senior Logan Justus is one of just six kickers in the nation perfect (9 FGs, 27 PATs) on the year.
