Men’s and Women’s IUXC Both Rank in Top-25 For First Time This Season

NEW ORLEANS, La.— The U.S. Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association announced their weekly national rankings on Tuesday afternoon. For the first time this season, both the Indiana men's and women's cross country squads ranked within the top-25. The men jumped two sports to No. 13 while the women checked at No. 23.
Monday, the USTFCCCA also announced their weekly regional rankings. In the Great Lakes Region, the men rank second while the women sit at No. 6.
The men had a strong finish at the Nuttycombe Invitational last Friday afternoon. After being predicted to finish 10th in a very talented field, the squad led by Kyle Mau, finished seventh overall in the team standings. Mau led the Hoosiers with a 10th place finish in a time of 23:49.6.
On the women's side, Indiana was led by sophomore standout Bailey Hertenstein who clocked a time of 20:17.9 to finish 16th overall. As a team, Indiana picked up a 15th place finish.
Up next, the Hoosiers will send a small group to the Butler Bulldog Invite on Friday Oct. 25. The women's 5K race is set for 4:30p followed by the men's 8K race at 5p.
