BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Women's Soccer concluded the home slate on Sunday where they came up short to Purdue, 2-1. Melanie Forbes scored the goal for the Hoosiers in the seventh minute.

KEY MOMENTS
• In the seventh minute, Melanie Forbes received a feed from Avery Lockwood that led to the first goal of the contest. The Hoosiers took the lead, 1-0.
• Purdue would answer with a goal in the 20^th minute to tie it up at 1-1. The goal was scored off a free kick just outside of the box.
• Senior Meghan Scott had a look on target in the 31^st minute of action but the Boilermakers goalkeeper was there for the save.
• Megan Wampler took the first shot of the second half by either team, but couldn't get the ball on target as it sailed wide.
• The Boilermakers saw their second goal of the contest in the 60^th minute on Sunday afternoon to take a 2-1 lead.
• Looking for the equalizer, Madeline Carlson was able to tee up a shot inside the box but a Purdue defender was able to step in front of it.

NOTABLES
• Melanie Forbes led the Hoosiers on offense in Sunday's match with two shots and a goal.
• Sunday's match marked Jacelyn Smith's first start in her career with the Hoosiers.
• Bethany Kopel tallied one save. She now has 50 saves this season and 237 in her career.

"Really tough result today, especially because we started the game so well. We played very well and were in total control of the game. We only have ourselves to blame with letting the quality of our possession drop after that. This one stings but hopefully we can use today as fire for Wednesday."

The Hoosiers will conclude the 2019 regular season on the road at Michigan State on Wednesday Oct. 30 at 1p. Wednesday's matchup will serve as the makeup game from Sept. 27 when the match between Indiana and the Spartans was stopped in the 23^rd minute due to weather.
