#ProIU Hoosiers in the NFL – Week Eight

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – With 11 Hoosiers part of National Football League organizations, Indiana is well represented in the professional ranks. Throughout the year, IUHoosiers.com will provide updates on these former IU standouts.
Tevin Coleman, San Francisco 49ers, Running Back
Coleman was electric in the San Francisco 49ers' 51-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The Niners improved to an NFC-best 7-0 record with the win. Coleman carried the ball 11 times for 105 yards (9.5 yards per carry) and a career-best three rushing scores. He added two receptions for 13 yards and a touchdown.
His game was the second of his career in which he had at least one rushing and receiving touchdown. The first came against the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 11, 2016. It also marked the fourth time in his career that Coleman rushed for 100 yards or more.
Coleman also became the first 49er since Hall of Famer Jerry Rice to score four touchdowns in a game. Rice secured four touchdown receptions against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Oct. 14, 1993.
The five-year veteran ranks sixth in the NFC in rushing yards this season with 332 yards on 71 carries (4.7 yards per carry) and five touchdowns. He has added eight catches for 61 yards and a score.
Jordan Howard, Philadelphia Eagles, Running Back
Howard came up huge in the Philadelphia Eagles' 31-13 victory over the Buffalo Bills. He totaled 96 yards on the ground on 23 carries (4.2 yards per carry) and a touchdown. He also brought in one catch for 15 yards to help move the Eagles to 4-4 on the season.
The fourth-year pro has carried the ball 100 times this season for 443 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and five touchdowns. Howard has also secured nine grabs for 68 yards and one touchdown. He ranks 10th in the NFC in rushing yards.
Cody Latimer, New York Giants, Wide Receiver
Latimer has seen action in seven games for the New York Giants (2-6) and has hauled in 12 receptions on 22 targets for 165 yards (13.8 yards per reception).
Latimer brought in two of his three targets for 28 yards against the Detroit Lions last time out.
Dan Feeney, Los Angeles Chargers, Offensive Line
Feeney, a two-time All-American at Indiana, has started all eight games this season for the Los Angeles Chargers (3-5).
Rodger Saffold, Tennessee Titans, Offensive Line
Saffold has started all eight games this season for the Tennessee Titans (4-4). He has started 119 of his 122 games played in his 10-year NFL career.
Brandon Knight, Dallas Cowboys, Offensive Line
Knight has earned playing time in two games this season for the Dallas Cowboys (4-3). The rookie started his first-career NFL game against the New York Jets on Oct. 13.
Wes Martin, Washington Redskins, Offensive Line
Martin, a fourth-round selection of the Washington Redskins (1-7), has made two starts in his rookie season. His first-career start came against the New York Giants. He also earned a starting nod against the New England Patriots.
Nate Sudfeld, Philadelphia Eagles, Quarterback
Sudfeld, a Super Bowl LII champion, is a back-up quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles (4-4). He has not seen action in 2019.
Ian Thomas, Carolina Panthers, Tight End
Thomas has played in seven games for the Carolina Panthers (4-3) with one start. His spot start came in Carolina's week five matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Chris Covington, Dallas Cowboys, Linebackers
Covington is a member of the Dallas Cowboys (4-3). He has not seen action in 2019.
Jason Spriggs, Green Bay Packers, Offensive Line
Spriggs is a member of the Green Bay Packers (7-1). He has not seen action in 2019.
