ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced their yearly regular season awards on Thursday afternoon. Avery Lockwood, Allison Jorden, and Hanna Nemeth all earned season awards for their efforts during the Indiana Women's Soccer season.
Jorden was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team, for her first All-Big Ten award of her career. Jorden has been an anchor on the back line for the Hoosiers, aiding in nine shutouts and six Big Ten shutouts this season. The six Big Ten shutouts were the most in a single season in school history. She also assisted on the first Hoosiers goal at UT Martin earlier this season.
Lockwood raked in her first Big Ten honor by being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team. The Belmont, Mich. Native was also tabbed as one of Top Drawer Soccer's Top 100 freshman this season. The freshman leads Indiana's attacking third with five goals and three assists, totaling 13 points. Lockwood has had two games this season where she has secured the game winning goal—at Illinois and Michigan State. Her goal against the Spartans aided in the Hoosiers clinching a spot in the Big Ten Tournament.
Nemeth was tabbed as a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree. The junior has also aided in the efforts of the back line, starting every game this season. She has helped the team to nine shutouts and six Big Ten shutouts. Nemeth assisted on the lone goal against UIC.
The Hoosiers will begin postseason play on Sunday, Nov. 3 at Rutgers. Kick off is set for 1p in Piscataway, N.J.
