Postgame Notes
- Indiana Basketball improved to 3-0 on the season with a 91-65 victory over North Alabama on Tuesday night.
- This was the first ever meeting between the Lions and the Hoosiers.
- Indiana's largest lead was was 27 at the 7:02 mark in the second half. The Hoosiers never trailed again after freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis hit two free throws at the 9:36 mark in the first half to take a 19-18 lead.
- In the second half the Hoosiers held North Alabama to only 5-of-18 shooting (27.8 percent), while outscoring the Lions 44-25.
- The five field goals were the fewest the Hoosiers have allowed in a half since Nov. 25, 2012 against Ball State when they made five. The Hoosiers also only allowed five field goals against Michigan (Jan. 15, 2011) and four field goals against Notre Dame (Dec. 17, 2011) and Duke (Nov. 28, 2006).
- Indiana shot 50 percent or better for the third straight game. For the season, the Hoosiers are shooting 53.2 percent from the field.
- The Hoosiers scored 46 points off the bench and through three games the Hoosiers are averaging 33.7 points per game off the bench.
- The Hoosiers used an 11-0 run to go up 65-45 at the 11:27 mark of the second half. Indiana held North Alabama scoreless for a period of 4:56 over the scoring run.
- Indiana went 37-of-45 (82.2 percent) from the free-throw line. The 37 made free throws marks the most since draining 39 at Iowa on Feb. 21, 2017.
- The Hoosiers had five players score in double figures, Jackson-Davis (20), sophomore guard Rob Phinisee (13), redshirt freshman forward Jerome Hunter (12), junior guard Al Durham (11) and sophomore guard Damezi Anderson (10). This is the first time Indiana has had five players in double figures since March 7, 2019 against Illinois.
- Jackson-Davis tallied a career-high 20 points on 3-of-4 (75.0 percent) shooting from the field and 14-of-15 (93.3 percent) shooting from the free throw line. Jackson-Davis also grabbed a team-best eight rebounds. The game marked the second time in as many outings that he scored in double figures.
- Jackson-Davis' 14 free throws made is the most since Eric Gordon went 14-of-14 on Dec. 29, 2007 against Chicago State.
- The 20-point outing from Jackson-Davis is the highest for a true freshman at Indiana since Romeo Langford also recorded 20 points on March 10, 2019 against Rutgers.
- To go along with his 13 points, Phinisee dished out a game-high six assists.
- Hunter tallied a career-high 12 points and added two steals in 16 minutes of action.
- Durham had 11 points and matched a career-high with two blocked shots.
- Anderson secured a career-high 10 points, three rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes.
- Redshirt junior Joey Brunk tallied six points (2-of-2 shooting) and two rebounds in his third start of the season.
- Senior forward De'Ron Davis registered six points on 4-of-6 shooting from the free-throw line and two rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench.
- Freshman guard Armaan Franklin compiled five points, two rebounds and three assists in his third collegiate start.
- Redshirt sophomore forward Race Thompson notched five points, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals in a reserve role.
- Junior forward Justin Smith tallied three points, two rebounds and a steal.
- Indiana will next be in action at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall against Troy in the first game of the Indiana Challenge.
