Game Notes: Indiana vs. Michigan

Setting The Scene
• RV/RV/-- Indiana (7-3, 4-3 B1G East) welcomes No. 12/12/15 Michigan (8-2, 5-2 B1G East) for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 23. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EST at Memorial Stadium (52,656; FieldTurf) on ESPN.
• Sixteen Hoosiers will participate in Senior Day festivities prior to Saturday's game.
• IU owns a 4-1 record at Memorial Stadium in 2019, its best mark since 1993.
• Indiana has yielded three total points in its last two Big Ten home wins, the second-lowest, two-game home B1G opponent scoring output in a single season in program history - Minnesota (0) and Michigan State (0) on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8, 1958.
• The Hoosiers received 47 votes in this week's AP Top 25 and 39 votes in this week's Amway Coaches Poll.
• Prior to the Penn State game, Indiana entered the AP Poll (No. 24) for the first time since Sept. 20, 1994, and the Coaches Poll (No. 25) for the first time since Oct. 17, 1994.
• The last two meetings between IU and U-M in Bloomington have extended into overtime. The Wolverines downed the Hoosiers 27-20 on Oct. 14, 2017, and 48-41 in double overtime on Nov. 14, 2015.
The Coaches
• Tom Allen was named Indiana's head coach on Dec. 1, 2016, and made his debut at the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl against Utah. The New Castle, Ind., native joined IU as associate head coach/defense on Jan. 15, 2016. In Allen's two seasons as head coach, 21 Hoosiers have earned All-Big Ten honors and 15 have been drafted or invited to NFL camps.
• Jim Harbaugh is 46-16 (.742) in his fifth season as Michigan head coach. He owns a 104-43 (.708) overall record with stints at Stanford (2007-10) and San Diego (2004-06). Harbaugh coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-14.
News & Notes
• Indiana associate head coach/offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer is one of 41 nominees for the Broyles Award.
• Fifth-year senior kicker Logan Justus is one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award for the second-straight season.
• The Hoosiers are bowl eligible for the third time in five seasons.
• IU has clinched its first winning season since 2007 (7-6) and has won seven games for just the 13th time in program history.
• Indiana owns five eight-win (1993, 1988, 1987, 1979, 1905) and two nine-win (1967, 1945) campaigns.
• The Hoosiers 7-3 record is tied for the fourth-best mark in program history through 10 games (1942, 1944, 1979, 1987, 1993). The 1905 (8-1-1), 1945 (9-0-1) and 1967 (9-1) teams hold the Top-3 spots.
• IU's four-game conference winning streak was snapped at No. 9 Penn State. It marked its longest such streak since 1993 and shared the second-longest in school history, behind the 1967 team's five-straight victories.
• Indiana owns two 30-plus point Big Ten wins this season – Rutgers (35-0) and Northwestern (34-3) – for the first time since 2001 – at Wisconsin (63-32) and Northwestern (56-21).
• The Hoosiers streak of six-consecutive 30-point games came to an end at PSU. The six straight tied a program record (last 4 of 2015 and first 2 of 2016) and is a record for the most consecutive in a single season.
• Their eight 30-point games are tied for the second-most (1988, 2007, 2013) in an IU single season behind 2015 (9).
• Indiana has held four opponents: Eastern Illinois (52-0), Connecticut (38-3), Rutgers (35-0) and Northwestern (34-3), to three points or less this season, which marks the most since holding five opponents to three points or less in the 1945 season.
