TEAM
• Indiana wins the Old Oaken Bucket for the first time since 2016 and for the first time on the road since 2015.
• IU finished the decade with a 6-4 mark against Purdue.
• This is the second overtime game in the Bucket series (2010) and the first double-overtime game.
• The Hoosiers improved to 4-7 all-time in overtime games.
• They last played in an overtime game against Michigan on Oct 14, 2017, a 27-20 loss, and their first double-overtime game since a 48-41 loss against Michigan on Nov. 14, 2015.
• Indiana closed the regular season with an 8-4 overall record and a 5-4 Big Ten mark.
• IU has won eight games for just the eighth time in program history and the first time since 1993. The Hoosiers own six eight-win (1993, 1988, 1987, 1979, 1905) and two nine-win (1967, 1945) campaigns.
• The Hoosiers fifth-conference win is tied for their third-most in program history (1993, 1991, 1988, 1979, 1945). The school record for conference wins is six (1987, 1967).
• Indiana posted a winning conference record for the first time since 1993 (5-3).
• IU will play in its third bowl game in five seasons.
• Senior left tackle Coy Cronk (injured), fifth-year senior linebacker Reakwon Jones, redshirt junior quarterback Peyton Ramsey, fifth-year senior right guard Simon Stepaniak and fifth-year wide receiver Nick Westbrook served as game captains. The five are the team's season captains.
• Purdue won the coin toss and elected to receive. Indiana improved to 4-2 when its opponent receives the ball first.
OFFENSE
• Indiana reached 30 points for the ninth time this season, tying the 2015 Hoosiers for the program record.
• IU scored (TD) on its opening offensive possession for the seventh-straight game and the ninth time (6 TDs) in 12 games (51 points).
• The game-opening drive covered 12 plays, 91 yards and 6:44 of game time. It marked the Hoosiers third-longest drive of the year and their fifth of 90-plus yards.
• Indiana's second scoring drive also took 10-pus plays (11) and over 5:00 (5:09) to give it 11 drives over 10 and 5:00 in 2019.
• Peyton Ramsey finished 23-of-39 for 337 yards, his sixth-career 300-yard passing game, with a career-high-tying three touchdowns (5th time). He added 42 yards on the ground with a career-high-tying two scores (2nd time).
• It marked his first-game with five total TDs, the first for a Hoosier since Tre Roberson's six on Nov. 30, 2013, against Purdue, and his ninth-career game (3rd this season) with at least one passing and one rushing TD.
• The redshirt junior has 42 career passing touchdowns, tied with Antwaan Randle El for fourth-most in school history, and 13 career rushing scores. He is the fifth Hoosier to surpass 40 passing scores and the first since Nate Sudfeld (61, 2012-15).
• Ramsey moved into fifth in IU history with 7,132 total yards, surpassing Steve Bradley's mark of 6,943 (1983-85). He ranks second in program history with 613 career completions, trailing only Ben Chappell (651, 2007-10) on the all-time list. Ramsey moved into a tie with six other Hoosiers for third (most recently, Richard Lagow in 2016) with three 300-yard passing games in a single season.
• The Cincinnati, Ohio, native is the second quarterback in IU history to accumulate 600 career completions, 7,000 total yards and 40 touchdown tosses, joining Chappell.
• Whop Philyor became the seventh Hoosier with 1,000 receiving yards and sits seventh on the single-season list with 1,001. The junior finished with eight receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns, his second multi-TD game of the season and his career.
• Philyor reached 100 yards for the fourth time in 2019, tied for the sixth-most in IU history, and the sixth time in his career, tied for the seventh-most in Indiana history.
• The Tampa native also moved into sixth on the single-season receptions list with 69. He is the 13th pass-catcher in program history to record at least 125 career receptions and 1,500 career yards.
• Sampson James became the 13th IU true freshman to surpass 100 rushing yards. He rushed for 118 yards on 22 attempts (5.4 average) with one touchdown in his first-career start. The rushing score was his third.
• Redshirt sophomore Peyton Hendershot moved into second place on the school's single-season list for tight ends in receptions (46) and yardage (555) after he hauled in four passes for 49 yards.
• Fifth-year senior wide receiver Nick Westbrook made the 35th start of his career. Westbrook tallied five receptions for 88 yards and a score in the contest.
• Westbrook has hauled in 140 career catches for 2,178 yards and 16 touchdowns. He topped Simmie Cobbs Jr. (139, 2014-17) for the eighth-most career receptions on the IU leaderboard and moved into sole possession of seventh in TDs.
• Redshirt freshman wide receiver Miles Marshall made the first start of his career. He compiled a career-high four receptions for a career-best 49 yards.
• Fifth-year senior right tackle DaVondre Love made the first start of his career.
• Redshirt sophomore Caleb Jones made the first start of his career at left tackle and his 12th overall.
DEFENSE
• With sophomore husky Jamar Johnson's first-quarter interception, Indiana has a takeaway in 28 of its last 30 games.
• Johnson picked off his first pass of 2019 and the second of his career.
• True freshman cornerback Tiawan Mullen forced and recovered a fumble on Purdue's opening, third-quarter possession to give him two forces and recoveries on the year. He led the Hoosiers with career-bests in tackles (8), solos (6), TFLs (2.5), and pass breakups (4, tied).
• IU has 15 takeaways this season with 10 fumble recoveries and five interceptions.
• The Hoosiers scored seven points off of the takeaways and have scored 52 points off of the 15 takeaways overall.
• Redshirt junior tackle Jerome Johnson picked up his fourth sack of the season and now owns 8.5 in his career. He charted a career-best seven stops and two for loss.
• Sophomore safety Devon Matthews notched a career-high-tying solos, while fifth-year senior linebacker Reakwon Jones tallied five solos, one TFL, and one PBU in the victory.
• Sophomore cornerback Reese Taylor made the first start of his career. He made three solo stops with one for loss, and one breakup. He added one punt return for 10 yards.
