EAST LANSING, Mich.– The Indiana volleyball team fell in their final match of the season, in four sets (18-25, 15-25, 25-20, 22-25) on Saturday at Jenison Field House.

Key Moments

With the first set tied, 11-11, Michigan State went on a 6-0 run to take a 17-11 lead. The Spartans will ride that to a 25-18 win in the opening set.
Hayden Huybers tallied kills in the second set to put Indiana up 6-5 and 7-6. Michigan State then used a 4-0 run to go up 10-7.
Michigan State went on a 7-1 run to go up 20-11 in the second set. The Spartans won set two, 25-15 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Trailing 8-5 in the third set Indiana scored four straight to take a 9-8 lead. During the scoring run Indiana had kills from Jacqui Armer and Deyshia Lofton and an ace from Emily Fitzner.
A block from Huybers and Megan Sloan put the Hoosiers up 13-10 in the third set. A solo block from Deyshia Lofton put Indiana up 20-16.
The Hoosiers closed the third set with a 5-1 run to win it 25-20.
Michigan State led early in the fourth set, 8-4 and extended that lead to 15-10.
With the Spartans leading 18-13, Indiana scored five straight points to tie it 18-18 on a kill from Huybers.
Tied 20-20 in the fourth set, an Indiana service error and Michigan State kill put the Spartans up 22-20. The Spartans would win the set, 25-22 and win the match.

Notables

The Hoosiers finish the season 14-19 overall and 3-17 in Big Ten matches. Michigan State improves to 15-15 overall and 6-14 in Big Ten matches.
Indiana seniors Victoria Brisack, Hayden Huybers, Meaghan Koors, Jacqui Armer, Megan Sloan, Deyshia Lofton and Kendall Beerman played in their final match for the Hoosiers.
Indiana seniors combined for 41 of the Hoosiers 43 kills in the match.
Senior Hayden Huybers led the Hoosiers with 13 kills in the match. Deyshia Lofton also reached double-digit kills with 11.
Bayli Lebo led Indiana with 14 digs and Emily Fitzner recorded 39 assists for the Hoosiers.
Senior Deyshia Lofton finished her career number two on the Hoosiers all-time list for career hitting percentage, becoming only the second player to hit over .300. Lofton also finished with 413 career blocks, which ranked seventh on the Hoosiers all-time list.
