Forbes and Jorden Tabbed for CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— On Thursday, Junior Melanie Forbes and Senior Allison Jorden were two of 13 players were two of 13 players named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Five first team.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, in her second year at the current institution and must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
This is the second honor for Jorden as she was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team at conclusion of the 2019 regular season. Jorden was an anchor on the back line for the Hoosiers this, aiding in nine shutouts and six Big Ten shutouts this season. The six Big Ten shutouts were the most in a single season in school history. She also assisted on the first Hoosiers goal at UT Martin earlier this season.
Forbes earned her first award of the 2019 season on Thursday. This season she tallied two goals and one assist. The junior secured the game-winner at Kentucky and fired off a goal against Purdue. She also assisted on the lone goal of the match vs. UIC and took a season high four shots in the match vs. Penn State.
