Morrison and Muncherji Wrap Up Competition at 2019 SEA Games

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Redshirt senior thrower Willie Morrison and junior sprinter Zubin Muncherji of Indiana Track & Field concluded their weekend long stint at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) on Tuesday morning in the Philippines. Morrison represented the Philippines while Muncherji competed for Singapore.
Morrison competed in his first event on Sunday morning where he took home gold in the men's shot-put final with a SEA Games record throw of 18.38m (60' 3.75"). He returned on Tuesday morning to compete in the men's discus final where he saw runner-up honors with a throw of 51.38m (168' 7").
Muncherji started his competition on Saturday night as he ran in the first heat of the 400m. Running a time of 48.75, he just missed the final of the event as Muncherji placed fifth in the heat. The junior then returned on Tuesday with Singapore's 4x400 relay where they clocked a time of 3:12.35 to place fifth.
As a team, Indiana will kick off the 2019-20 indoor track & field campaign at home inside Gladstein Fieldhouse for the annual Hoosier Open. The women's weight throw is slated as the first event at 3:45 p.m.
