Edwards Earns All-Big Ten Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– Indiana volleyball sophomore Breana Edwards earned selection on the All-Big Ten Second Team as the league announced their awards Wednesday.

Edwards built off a strong freshman season as she played in 28 matches and led the team in kills with 361.

Edwards broke a 21-year-old record in setting the Indiana program mark for kills in a match when she recorded 39 against Maryland on Nov. 15.

Edwards collected double-digit kills in 18 matches and led the Hoosiers in kills in 20 matches. Edwards tallied 20 kills to help the Hoosiers beat No. 15 Kentucky. In the Indiana win against Oregon State Edwards recorded 13 kills with no errors to hit .520 in the match.

Edwards honor gives the Hoosiers All-Big Ten selections in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2009-10 when Ashley Benson earned All-Big Ten Honors. Last season Deyshia Lofton earned All-Big Ten honors.

Indiana senior Meaghan Koors earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
