BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's soccer coaching staff was named the Men's North Region Staff of the Year for Division I Institutions, United Soccer Coaches announced on Wednesday.
The Hoosier staff consisting of head coach Todd Yeagley, assistant coach/recruiting coordinator Kevin Robson, assistant coach Danny O'Rourke, volunteer assistant coach Christian Lomeli earned the recognition as a result of a vote by other coaches in the North Region who are member of the United Soccer Coaches College Services program.
The honor is the second straight for the Indiana men's soccer staff.
The staff will be added to the National Staff of the Year ballot and will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Reception on Jan. 16, 2020 at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago.
Despite losing 10 starters from a veteran group that played in back-to-back NCAA College Cups, Indiana (15-3-4) finished the 2019 season as the Big Ten Conference regular season and tournament champions for the second-straight season. The Big Ten title double marked the 10th in program history.
Following the regular season, Yeagley was named Big Ten Coach of the Year for the third time in his Hoosier career and second time in as many seasons. He also claimed that honor in the 2010 and 2018 seasons.
