Indiana University is in its 119th season of competition in men's basketball. The Hoosiers are coming off a 55-52 loss at home to Ohio State. Minnesota fell to Nebraska, 62-61, in Lincoln, Wednesday night.
THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his 2nd season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 29-26 record since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 168-89 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Richard Pitino is in his 6th year with the Golden Gophers.

Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Langford is the top freshman scorer in the conference averaging 17.5 ppg. He has shot 42.3% from long distance over the last 4 games making 11 of 26 3FG. He has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week 4 times. Morgan earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week accolades after his record-setting 35-point effort against Butler. He has scored 1,199 career points (38th all-time at IU) and is 4th in the B1G in double-doubles with 8.
After ranking as high as 2nd in the nation in field goal shooting a few weeks ago, the Hoosiers have shot just 39.8% in their last 10 games. Langford, Morgan, and sophomore Justin Smith have started all 24 games for the Hoosiers. Smith had his best all-around game with the Hoosiers in the win over #6 Michigan State with 13 points and 10 rebounds, his third career double-double, and 3 key blocked shots, including a game-saving tip of Cassius Winston's potential game-tying layup with 3.4 seconds left in overtime.
Junior De'Ron Davis (ankle). Davis, who had only played 31 minutes in 6 games since December 19, played a season-high 25 minutes and posted more season-high's in points (12), rebounds (6) and assists (4) against the Spartans. Against Iowa, he played 23 minutes and had 4 points, 5 boards and a career-high 7 assists. He had 6 points against Ohio State and is averaging 21 minutes in the last 3 games. He has averaged 7.3 points and has 13 assists to just 1 turnover since returning to the lineup. Sophomore Al Durham is averaging 9.3 points in the last 3 games. He is shooting 50.0% from three-point range, making 5 of 10 attempts from downtown.
Minnesota native Race Thompson returns home. The Robbinsdale Armstrong High School product redshirted last year and has been sidelined most of the season with a concussion. He has been working to get back in playing shape. His father, Darrell, played football for the Golden Gophers and left the school as its all-time leading rusher. His brother, True, is a wide receiver and a member of the Minnesota football team.
