DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 24 ranked Indiana Softball team remains unbeaten on the season as the Hoosiers improved to 9-0 with a 5-1 win against Syracuse in Sunday's finale of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The start is now officially the second-best in program history with the top outing coming in 1990 at 11-0.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana jumped to a 1-0 lead in the second as a shallow single by sophomore Makayla Ferrari plated freshman Juvia Davis. Davis was in running for sophomore Annika Baez, who led off the frame with a deep double to center.
• The Orange tied the game in the third as Alicia Hansen scored on a single by Bryce Holmgren, coupled with an IU fielding error.
• The Hoosiers used a pair of two-out solo home runs to take a 3-1 lead in the fifth. First, sophomore Camryn Woodall knocked her first career homer on a shot to left. Next batter up, junior Katie Lacefield went yard on a shot to right center, her first of the season and third of her career.
• Following sophomore Maddie Westmoreland's one-out double to right center in the sixth, sophomore Grayson Radcliffe scored pinch runner Carolyn Kuhn on a single to left before she came home on an RBI groundout by Ferrari to make it 5-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

HEAD COACH SHONDA STANTON
"A full solid weekend. I thought Goodin did a great job coming in to get the win and Josie with the save. Coach Bell did a really good of managing our staff. We got great offensive production this weekend out of Cam, she really had a breakout weekend.
"I couldn't be any more proud of our team, we're going home 9-0 and it's going to be fun to get back and take a look at how many teams are undefeated in the country right now. I really like our fast start."
UP NEXT
Indiana travels to Macon, Ga. next weekend for the Black and Orange Challenge hosted by Mercer. Action begins on Friday with an 11 a.m. tilt against Akron.
