Langford Receives Honors from USBWA and Associated Press

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University freshman Romeo Langford received two more postseason honors from the United States Basketball Writers Association and the Associated Press.
The 6-6 guard from New Albany, Indiana was named to the USBWA All-District team as well as Second Team All-Big Ten by the Associated Press.
Langford was selected second team All-Big Ten and All-Freshman by the coaches and third team All-Big Ten by the media. Langford was the top freshman scorer in the conference averaging 16.7 ppg. He had been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week 4 times.
Langford's scoring average is the third-highest for a freshman at IU. Eric Gordon averaged 20.9 in 2007-08 and Mike Woodson averaged 18,5 in 1976-77.
Langford leads all B1G frosh in scoring (16.7), minutes (1055), FTM/FTA (140/190), is 4th in blocked shots (26), rebounds (5.4) and assists (2.3) and 6th in steals (0.8). He is the fifth player for IU since the 1996-97 season to lead all Big Ten frosh in scoring in conference games only. Langford is the only one of the five to not earn Big Ten Freshman of the Year from the media or coaches.
