Hoosiers Earn Victories Over Cornell, Miami (Ohio)

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team took down Cornell and Miami (Ohio) on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers (9-5) beat Cornell by a score of 7-0 and prevailed 4-0 over Miami (Ohio) in the second match of the double header.
The Hoosiers came out strong in doubles against Cornell as they won at No. 1 doubles 6-2 and No. 1 doubles (6-1) to earn the doubles point.
Indiana won four of the six singles matches in straight sets and closed out the sweep with two three-set victories.
Against Miami (Ohio) the Hoosiers won the doubles point and then won five of six first sets to start singles.
Natalie Whalen, Caitlin Bernard and Jelly Bozovic won singles matches to clinch the victory for Indiana. Whalen improved to a team best 16-4 overall in singles with her two wins on the day.
Up next the Hoosiers host Illinois and Northwestern to start Big Ten play at home on Friday March 8 and Saturday March 9.
