Kaletha's Walk-Off RBI Single Gives IU 3-2 Win Over Iowa

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Baseball (13-8, 1-0) picked up its first Big Ten victory of the season off the bat of senior Logan Kalthea's game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to secure a 3-2 victory on Friday night.
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Cole Barr hit out a solo home run in the bottom of the second to put the Hoosiers on the board.
• With two outs in the bottom of the fifth, senior Matt Lloyd drove in junior Matt Gorski from second on an RBI single to give Indiana a 2-0 advantage.
• Iowa rallied late in the ninth inning to knot the game at 2-all. Sophomore Connor Manous inherited runners on first and second base but picked up two quick outs to keep the score at 2-2.
• Following a walk to Barr in the bottom of the ninth, Kaletha took a full count offering through the right side, which scored Barr from second.
NOTES
• Milto went 8.1 innings, allowing seven hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out 10 batters.
• The 10 strikeouts for Milto matches his career-high, last reaching that mark against Texas Southern on June 2, 2018.
• With the 10 strikeouts, he now moves into a tie for eighth all-time at IU (Scott Mudd, 1992-95) with 200 career strikeouts.
• Of his 31 career starts, the senior has now tossed 20 quality starts.
• Barr's home run was his eighth of the year and his career. He entered this weekend as the Big Ten's leader in long balls and was tied for 16th nationally.
