DB A'Shon Riggins
On how the spring has gone…
Pretty good. Personally I feel like I have been having a really good spring and just having fun with the cornerbacks. That's what it's all about. Just having fun.
On what he is trying to work on…
I'm working on just being more of a role model. This is my last season coming up, so I want to leave a good legacy for my class and make sure I lead our team not only to a bowl game, but to win a bowl game.
On his mindset going into a final spring…
Really just focusing on the little details for everything and cherishing the moment.
On the competition in his position group…
It's very competitive. Everyone can play. Reese Taylor and Jaylin Williams are the youngest in the group and they've been playing and doing really good. It's very competitive. Raheem Layne does a very nice job and is a nice-sized corner. We do a really good job competing and we know we all can play, so we just keep that in our head and keep pushing each other.
On the fun moments that happen during the spring…
Those are moments as a senior that I really make sure to cherish because it will never be the same again. Just having fun, just goofing around with those guys are moments that you just have to keep with you.
On specifics he is trying to work on as they wrap up the spring…
Just being a role model. Especially for Jaylin and Reese. Those guys are our future and I want to make sure that they've got the best role model or somebody to look up to so they know the roots.
RB Stevie Scott
On how the spring has been going…
Ever since the new offensive coordinator change, the offense has been flowing. We are just competing and getting better every day. I just feel that every day this spring we have been getting better.
On how he has adapted to Kalen DeBoer's offense…
I feel like every practice we are getting better. We are getting more confidence in the offensive coordinator and in ourselves, just running the plays and practicing the plays 24/7. We are just trying to get everything down pat. Each day we are just getting more comfortable.
The mindset coming into the spring…
I had a good season last year, but that is in the past. I just have to keep bettering myself and keep moving forward to make myself a better player and just keep improving.
On the running back room competition…
I love the competition because it allows us to push each other and allows us to come to our best ability to play. Every time there is competition in the room it allows me to better myself and remain focused going forward.
What specifically he is trying to work on this spring…
Since the spring started I have been working on my speed a lot. I am really trying to make sure I get that last defender to miss, getting past the secondary and finishing runs off. The big runs like that are important.
