Indiana Faces Washington in Seattle Baseball Showcase on Friday

• Indiana heads to Seattle, Wash. to take part in the Seattle Baseball Showcase, featuring matchups with Washington, No. 1 Oregon State and San Diego.
• With this being the second overall meeting between the two programs, Indiana holds the 1-0 series edge as the Hoosiers came out on the winning side back on Feb. 21, 2014, defeating the Huskies by a score of 8-2.
• Indiana Head Coach Jeff Mercer enters his first season with the Hoosiers and his 10th overall year in coaching collegiately. He has posted a 83-53 career record after leading Wright State to winning seasons in each of his
two years with the Raiders, including a 2018 Horizon League title and NCAA Regional appearance.
• Washington head coach Lindsay Meggs, is in his 10th season with the Huskies. In 2018, Meggs guided the Huskies to a historical season, getting the program's first Super Regional win and College World Series berth.
• Offensively, Indiana is first in the Big Ten in home runs (14) and second in slugging percentage.
• The Hoosiers are third in the league in ERA (3.15) and WHIP (1.34).
• Senior starting pitcher Pauly Milto has 23 strikeouts (2nd in Big Ten) through his first three starts and has walked just two batters in 21 innings to begin the year. The Greenwood, Ind.-native is third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (11.5) and is fourth in wins (2).
• Despite missing the entire Tennessee series, junior Matt Gorski is first in the Big Ten in RBI, tied for first in home runs, second in runs, and third in total bases.
• Also joining Gorski for the team lead in home runs is sophomore Cole Barr.
• Senior Matt Lloyd, sophomore Tanner Gordon and Gorski were named Indiana's three Players to Watch by the Big Ten and the Hoosiers were picked to finish fourth in the league by the conference coaches.
• Gorski picked up a handful of preseason honors, including preseason All-American laurels from the NCBWA, D1 Baseball and Perfect Game.
• Lloyd additionally joined Gorski in earning preseason All-American honrors, picking up nod from Perfect Game and Collegiate Baseball.
• Since the start of the 2008 season, Indiana leads the Big Ten in wins (390) and conference wins (161). The Hoosiers have made six NCAA Regionals over that span, the most out of any current Big Ten team.
• For the fifth time in six years, Indiana was selected to the 2018 NCAA Baseball Tournament field. The No. 2-seeded Hoosiers played in the Austin Regional and reached the Regional final, eventually falling to Texas, 3-2.
