Appel Gets Ranked Win, Hoosiers Fall to No. 21 Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Indiana women's tennis team fell 6-1 against No. 21 Ohio State on Sunday.
Ohio State (19-3, 8-1) won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Caitlin Bernard and Natalie Whalen improved to 26-6 and 7-1 in Big Ten play in doubles with a 6-1 win.
The Hoosiers (14-10, 4-5) got a point from Madison Appel with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over No. 54 Isabelle Boulais, but Ohio State won three of the first four singles matches to clinch the overall match and go up 4-1.
Ohio State won the last two singles matches of the day for the 6-1 final score.
Up next the Hoosiers close out the regular season with two matches at home. Indiana will host Rutgers on Saturday April 20 and Maryland on Sunday April 21. Both matches will start at 11:00 a.m. ET.
