MADISON, Wis. – Indiana Softball fell in the series opener to Wisconsin on Friday night at Goodman Diamond, 5-0. The Hoosiers broke the single season program record for stolen bases in the loss.

• The Badgers tacked on a run in the fourth on an RBI double by Jordan Little.

• A two-run double by Wisconsin's Stephanie Lombardo increased Wisconsin's lead to 4-0 in the fifth as she brought around Taylor Johnson and Konwent.
• A fifth run came across in the sixth on an RBI single through the left side by Johnson, plating Little.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Sophomore Taylor Lambert's stolen base in the third inning broke Indiana's team single-season program record for stolen bases with 121. The previous mark of 120 was set in 1987. Indiana finished the game with five stolen bases, pushing their season total to 124.
• Norton and Westmoreland had the lone Hoosiers hits in the game.
• Radcliffe reached base extended to 10 games with a sixth-inning walk.
• Indiana put a baserunner on in every inning except for the first and had a runner in scoring position in each inning except the first and seventh.
• Senior Tara Trainer took the loss for Indiana, going 4.0 frames in the start. Junior Emily Goodin tossed 2.0 frames in relief.
• Indiana falls to 31-16 on the season with a 6-9 Big Ten mark. Wisconsin improves to 31-8 with an 8-5 conference record.
INDIANA HEAD COACH SHONDA STANTON
"In five innings, we had opportunities to clutch up and came away empty each time. We were able to get on base, steal and get the next 60 feet but did not compete enough in the box. Defensively, we made too many mental miscues that turned the lineup over for them and they clutched up. We need to come out and be better offensively and compete."
