
Water Polo’s Izzy Mandema Claims Conference Honors

Bloomington, Ind. - The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced Thursday their selections to the All-MPSF teams, as chosen by the conference coaches. Indiana claimed an All-MPSF honorable mention as well as a spot on the MPSF All-Newcomer team from freshman utility, Izzy Mandema.
A native of Atherton, CA, Mandema leads the Hoosiers defensively with a team high of 65 drawn exclusions and 12 field blocks. Mandema also ranks second on the team in scoring with 27 goals and holds the third highest record for steals with 20.
Mandema has appeared in all 21 of the Hoosier's regular season games, collecting three hat tricks in matches against UC San Diego (1/19), Mercyhurst (3/2) and Cal State Northridge (3/3).
Under head coach, Ryan Castle, Indiana has collected a total of seven all-conference honors. The Hoosier's received five all-conference awards from the Collegiate Water Polo Association during Castle's first two seasons, and has now added two more nominations to their overall record this year from the MPSF.
