Lexi Kubas Signs with Indiana Women’s Tennis

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana women's tennis team has added Lexi Kubas (Ellington, Conn.) IU head coach Ramiro Azcui announced on Friday.
Kubas has been ranked as high as No. 77 in her class by TennisRecruiting.Net and was the 2017 USTA/New England Sportsmanship Award winner.
Kubas captained her team, Ellington High School, to the 2016 New England Founders league championships with an undefeated high school season.
"We are so excited to have Lexi join the IU Women's Tennis family," Azcui said. "Lexi is a powerful left-handed player with an indoor game, and we have high hopes for how she will develop in our program. More importantly, Lexi is already a passionate Hoosier and will add a wonderful personality to our locker room. Her opportunity for growth on and off the court at IU is tremendous and we can't wait to get her on campus."
Kubas also, in 2017 won the De Villa Franca tournament, featuring some of New England's top players.
Kubas will graduate with high honors from Ellington and plans to pursue a degree in Business at Indiana.
