No. 25 Indiana Picks up Friday Night Win at No. 19 Michigan, 10-4

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Indiana baseball (32-17, 13-6) earned a 10-4 win on Friday night at No. 19 Michigan.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana got off to a strong start. Junior Matt Gorski worked a one-out walk, which led to a double by sophomore Elijah Dunham down the right field line. Gorski tentatively held at third, but an errant throw on the cutoff to second led him to advance home.
• Sophomore Cole Barr then looped a single into left field to scored Dunham from second to make it a 2-0 game after one.
• The Hoosiers put up a four spot in the fourth inning. Four consecutive hits started the frame with a double from Dunham, a double from Barr, a single from junior Scotty Bradley and a double from senior Ryan Fineman led to two runs scoring. Freshman Grant Richardson and sophomore Justin Walker each had productive RBI groundouts to make it a 6-0 Hoosier lead.
• The Hoosiers got a one-out single from senior Matt Lloyd, which led to an RBI double by Dunham to build the lead to 7-0.
• After the Wolverines threatened with a three-run fifth, Indiana got those three runs back in the sixth. An RBI groundout by Gorski and a two-run error on a hard-hit ball by Lloyd gave IU a 10-3 lead.
• Michigan trimmed the lead to 10-4 in the sixth on an RBI fielder's choice by Jordan Nwogu.
NOTES
• Junior Pauly Milto scattered nine hits in six innings, allowing four runs, striking out seven and walking one.
• With the seven strikeouts, he passed Matt Bashore (2007-09) and Eric Jaques (1986-89) for second all-time in school history. He now has 246 career strikeouts. The Greenwood, Ind.-native now has 88 strikeouts this year, which is tied for eighth in school history for a single season (Claron Veller, 1930).
• His 52 strikeouts in Big Ten games only this season is now good for fourth in school history, as he passed Jonathan Stiever's (2018) mark of 50.
• The senior has now thrown 273.1 career innings, passing Steve Schaefer (1990-93) for eighth in IU history.
• Milto now has 12 career wins in Big Ten games only, putting him in a tie with Brian Partenheimer (1994-97) for fourth in school history.
• Dunham finished with three doubles, two runs and an RBI. It marked his first career three-hit game.
• Also tallying his first career three-hit game was Barr, who had two RBI and a double.
• Freshman Gabe Bierman picked up his first career save (three innings to close game). He struck out a career-high eight batters, all consecutively to end the game.
