BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana (33-19) trailed by six runs early, rallied, but eventually fell to the Louisville Cardinals (41-12) on Tuesday night at Bart Kaufman Field.
KEY MOMENTS
• Louisville plated the first six runs of the game over the first four innings. The Hoosiers would rally thought, beginning in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI double from senior Matt Lloyd. Sophomore Elijah Dunham followed with identical, doubling to the gap to score Lloyd.
• Later in the frame, a wild pitch and two bases loaded walks resulted in three more runs, capping off a five-run frame for the Hoosiers to make it a 6-5 Cardinals lead.
• In the seventh inning, Louisville got the lead back up to two runs on an RBI single, but the Hoosiers rallied with a two-spot of their own to tie it up. It started with an RBI single by sophomore Cole Barr, followed by a sacrifice fly by sophomore Sam Crail to make it seven-all.
• The Cardinals took the lead for good in the top of the 12th on a chopper to first base, resulting in a run scoring from third.
