CHIP-INS
• Indiana is making its 23rd appearance in the NCAA postseason in school history and the sixth team appearance in head coach Clint Wallman's tenure.
• The Hoosiers opened the NCAA East Lansing Regional with a team score of 293 (+5) to tie for fourth place with Michigan State. Kent State is the top team after round one, posting a score of 282 while Arizona is second at 290 and Illinois checked in with 292.
• Indiana entered the Regional as the No. 14 seed while Kent State (3), Arizona (2) and Illinois (7) were all in the top seven.
• Graduate Student Kari Bellville opened with a round of 2-under 70 on Monday to tie for third place individually. She recorded one birdie, one bogey and seven pars on the front and then found the groove on the back nine with three birdies and one bogey.
• Bellville played the par 3's in 2-under par in round one, which tied for the best of anyone in the field. She is also tied for second in par 5 scoring, playing those holes in 2-under as well.
• Senior Erin Harper used four birdies and five bogeys in her first round to finish at 1-over par and a tie for 21st with a 73. After back-to-back bogeys on holes 3 and 4, Harper birdied the fifth and hit a beautiful iron to inside 10 feet for birdie on the par 3 seventh hole. Then on the back nine, she used her length to birdie both of the par 5's.
• Sophomore Priscilla Schmid was able to overcome a couple difficult holes on the front by playing her final seven holes in 2-under par to finish at 1-over par for the round and a tie for 21st.
• Freshman Alexis Miestowski is tied for 58th after a 77 in her opening round. She started the day with a birdie on the first hole but followed it up with a double bogey on the second hold. She would make the turn at 4-over before playing the back nine in just 1-over par.
• Sophomore Mary Parsons was not able to get her opening round untracked and is tied for 67th at 6-over par after 18 holes.
