AUSTIN, Texas— Eric Bethea, Kyle Mau, Daniel Michalski, and Cooper Williams return home as All-Americans after the final day of men's competition at NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Williams was looking to add to his fifth-place finish and All-America honors in the 800m at indoor championships. The West Lafayette, Ind. native recorded a season best time of 1:46.45 to take fifth in a very competitive field.
Racing in his last steeplechase as a Hoosier, Michalski was leading at the bell lap but an unfortunate fall at the water pit caused him to take seventh in his final meet while wearing the cream & crimson.
Bethea also concluded his collegiate career on Friday night in the triple jump. The senior grabbed seventh with a personal best mark of 16.65m (54 7.5") to close out his career.
Mau capped off the night by becoming a first team All-American in the 5K. The Hudson, Ohio native recorded a 14:09.62 to place eighth overall.
Leah Moran is the loan Hoosier that will compete tomorrow to close out the 2019 NCAA Track & Field Outdoor Championships for the Hoosiers. Her triple jump stint will begin at 6:40 p.m. EST.
