IU Alum Nate Jackson Wins Gold in Belarus

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A squad of Americans traveled to the Ex-Soviet Union over the weekend to participate in the prestigious Alexander Medved Prizes in Minsk, Belarus. Team USA brought home five medals, including a gold medal from IU alum Nate Jackson, which is only the fourth American Medved title in six years.
Jackson dispatched Uzbekistan's Javrail Shapiev, ranked #17 in the world, in the finals by the score of 7 to 4.
Jackson wrestled at IU from 2012-17 and was a two-time All-American. He finished in fifth-place at 174 lb. at the 2016 NCAA Championships and in eighth-place at 184 lb. at the 2017 NCAA Championships.
