
Indiana Basketball Once Again Among Nation's Best in Fan Attendance

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's basketball program ranked among the top 10 programs in the country in average home attendance during the 2017-18 season, finishing 10th in the country with an average of 15,591 fans per game. It is the seventh straight season that the Hoosiers have ranked among the top 10 teams average attendance in the country.
IU's total attendance in 18 home games was more than 280,000, the eighth highest total in college basketball.
Since Assembly Hall was opened in November, 1971, Indiana has ranked in the top 10 in attendance in 40 of the last 46 seasons.
IU also ranked 14th among all NCAA Division I teams with 460,982 fans seeing the Hoosiers play at home, on the road and in neutral games.
The Big Ten also led all conferences in average attendance with 12,197 fans, ahead of the Southeastern Conference (11,628), Atlantic Coast Conference (10,773), Big 12 Conference (10,376) and Big East Conference (10,371). It marks the 42nd consecutive season the Big Ten has led the nation in average attendance.
