Hoosiers Take Down No. 15 Kentucky in Five Sets

LEXINGTON, Ky.– The Indiana volleyball team beat No. 15 Kentucky for the first time since 1996 with a five set (16-25, 25-22, 12-25, 25-20, 15-11) win at Memorial Coliseum on Saturday.

- After Kentucky took a 4-0 lead in the second set, the Hoosiers used a 5-0 run to take a 5-4 lead on a block from Deyshia Lofton and Kari Zumach. Later in the set the Hoosiers used a 6-1 run to go up 18-15 and won set two, 25-22.
- Ignited by a 10-0 run in the third set, Kentucky took set three, 25-12.
- Leading 10-7 in the fourth set, Indiana went on a 6-0 run with two aces by Kamryn Malloy, to go up 15-7.
- With Indiana up 22-14 in the fourth set, Kentucky used a 4-0 run to get within four at 22-18.

- The Hoosiers improved to 8-2 on the season and went 3-0 on the weekend at the Bluegrass Battle.
- Deyshia Lofton was named the MVP of the tournament and Hayden Huybers and Breana Edwards also earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
- Breana Edwards led the Hoosiers with 20 kills, her seventh match of the season with double-digit kills.
- Lofton posted 34 kills over the three-matches, including a career-high 19 in the win against Cleveland State.
- Edwards added a career-high eight blocks.
- Bayli Lebo led the Hoosiers with 17 digs.
- The 15 digs by Victoria Brisack were a career-high.
