
Hoosiers Sweep Big Ten Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill.—The Big Ten Conference announced their third athlete of the week honors on Wednesday afternoon. Sweeping both the men's and women's athlete of the week, Kyle Mau and Bailey Hertenstein both earned their first B1G honor of 2019 cross country season.
Hertenstein ran in her first meet of her sophomore campaign last Saturday. At the Commodore Classic in Nashville, Tenn., she earned her first win at a meet in her career. She was able to outkick her competitor by 0.5 seconds to capture gold with a time of 21:08.0. Hertenstein was also named the USTFCCCA Women's National Athlete of the Week on Monday
Mau returned to the cross-country course for the first time this season at Vanderbilt. The Hudson, Ohio native secured second place at the Commodore Classic with a time of 24:24.5.
Up next, the Hoosiers will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for the John McNichols Invitational. The meet is slated for Saturday, Sept. 21 beginning at 9 a.m. EST.
