TEAM
• Indiana finished with a perfect 3-0 non-conference mark and has won 17 of its last 18 regular season non-conference games, including nine straight, and 12 of its last 13 at Memorial Stadium.
• IU's nine-consecutive non-conference victories mark the program's longest winning streak since 1909-15 (16 straight).
• The Hoosiers downed Connecticut for the first time in three meetings.
• Offensive lineman Matthew Bedford became the 10th true freshman to take the field in 2019.
• Former kicker Chris Gartner (1970-72) and linebacker Donnie Thomas (posthumously, 1973-75) were officially inducted into the Indiana Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday and were recognized in the second quarter this afternoon.
• Senior left tackle Coy Cronk, fifth-year senior linebacker Reakwon Jones, fifth-year senior right guard Simon Stepaniak and fifth-year senior wide receiver Nick Westbrook served as game captains. The four are the team's season captains.
• Gartner, Peggy Thomas (wife of Donnie Thomas) and former IU linebacker & IU Hall of Famer Ken Kaczmarek (1965-67) served as today's honorary captains.
• The Hoosiers received the ball first for the third time this season after the Huskies won the coin toss and deferred to the second half.
• BTN Tailgate, hosted by Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Michelle McMahon, aired live outside the west entrance of Assembly Hall from 10 a.m.-noon.
OFFENSE
• Redshirt junior Peyton Ramsey finished 23-of-27 for 247 yards and three touchdowns, his fourth-career game with three passing scores. His completion percentage of 85.2 is third on the program's single-game list. Ramsey owns the first, third and fourth spots.
• The Cincinnati native moved into a tie for 6th on the school's career passing TDs list (34), and into eighth in total offense (5,464) and attempts (726).
• Sophomore Stevie Scott III posted season-highs with 21 carries and 97 yards (4.6 average) to go along with one touchdown.
• Scott owns four TDs this year and 14 in his career. He has scored in eight of his last nine games.
• Ten different receivers caught a pass, led by wide receiver Ty Fryfogle and tight end Peyton Hendershot, who each brought in five balls.
• Fryfogle totaled 47 yards on the day, while Hendershot tallied 43 yards and reached the end zone for the third-straight game.
• Whop Philyor opened Indiana's scoring with a 12-yard reception in the opening quarter. It was Philyor's first score of the season and the fifth of his career. The junior finished the afternoon with four catches for 47 yards. Philyor added 11 rushing yards and 15 punt return yards.
• Fifth-year senior Nick Westbrook collected his second TD of 2019 and the 13th of his career in the third quarter. He made a pair of receptions for 32 yards.
• Senior left tackle Coy Cronk made the 40th start of his career.
• Fifth-year center Hunter Littlejohn made the 20th start of his career.
DEFENSE
• Indiana held Connecticut to three points, 145 total yards, 94 passing yards and 51 rushing yards.
• The three points allowed are the fewest against an FBS opponent since the Hoosiers shut out Rutgers on Nov. 18, 2017.
• The 51 rushing yards allowed are the fewest since holding Illinois to 33 on Nov. 11, 2017.
• The 94 passing yards allowed are the fewest since holding Michigan to 54 on Oct. 14, 2017.
• The 145 total yards allowed are the fewest since holding Michigan State to 138 on Oct. 5, 1991.
• IU allowed just 2.79 yards per play against UConn. The Huskies totaled their 145 yards on 52 plays in the game.
• Linebacker Cam Jones picked off his second-career pass and returned it 44 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. The sophomore added four tackles, one for loss, and one pass breakup.
• It marked Indiana's first pick-6 since Jonathan Crawford (33 yards) at Florida International on Sept. 1, 2018.
• IU now has a takeaway in 21 of its last 22 games and an INT in 12 of its last 14 games.
• Fifth-year senior linebacker Reakwon Jones and sophomore husky Jamar Johnson led the Hoosiers with six tackles.
• Senior defensive end Allen Stallings IV recorded his second sack of the year (back-to-back games) and the seventh of his career.
• Redshirt junior defensive tackle Jerome Johnson (6.5 career) and redshirt freshman defensive tackle Shamar Jones (half-sack career) shared a sack.
• Junior defensive end Michael Ziemba made the first start of his career.
SPECIAL TEAMS
• Indiana's career field goal percentage leader Logan Justus continued his perfect season with a 29-yard field goal, his sixth of the year, in the opening stanza. He connected on all five extra points, bringing his total to 14 this year.
• Justus is now 21-of-24 on field goals (87.5 percent) and 46-of-47 on PATs (97.7 percent).
