BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team defeated the Sacramento State Hornets, 1-0, on Friday night at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
KEY MOMENTS
• In the first half, the Hoosiers (5-1-2) had four shots on goal in the first half, but were unable to get a goal past the Hornets (5-3-1) in the first 45 minutes.
• In the 57th minute, A.J. Palazzolo played a great ball forward to a streaking Herbert Endeley. The freshman got around the keeper, but his effort from a sharp angle on the right side hit off the post.
• Just minutes later in the 60th minute, IU's Sean Caulfield came up with a big save on a Sacramento State free kick from 20-yards out.
• In the 75th minute, the Hoosiers found got the breakthrough. Spencer Glass played a ball to Maouloune Gomuballe on the left side of the box. The freshman played a pass back to the center of the box, where Joshua Penn finished his one-time effort to the right post, past the goalkeeper.
NOTABLES
• With the victory, Indiana extended the team's unbeaten streak at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium to 31 matches, posting a record of 28-0-3.
• Indiana's Sean Caulfield made a career-high six saves in recording his second shutout of the season.
• The goal was Penn's second of the season.
• Shots for the match were even at 12-12, with each team getting six shots on-goal.
• IU had a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
