
Maher Named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University men's soccer's Jack Maher was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced.
Maher was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the 2019 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic this past weekend after helping the Hoosiers win a pair of double-overtime matches. IU took down Pittsburgh, 3-2, on Friday before beating UCLA, 2-1, on Monday.
The sophomore scored the match-winner for the Hoosiers in double-overtime against UCLA and also had an assist in the team's victory over Pittsburgh.
The No. 2-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will head north to South Bend, Ind. to participate in the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament. IU will face Denver on Friday and Seattle on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET kickoffs.
