
Hoosiers Open Season with Sweep of Ball State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– The Indiana men's tennis team opened the spring season with a 7-0 victory against Ball State on Sunday at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers (1-0) got win from the pairs of Bennett Crane/Zac Brodney and Carson Haskins/William Piekarsky to win the doubles points and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Hoosiers continued their momentum from doubles as they won all six first sets in singles matches. Five of the six singles matches would be won in straight sets.
Andrew Redding gave Indiana its first singles win and Vikash Singh and Patrick Fletchall followed to clinch the match for the Hoosiers.
Zac Brodney, William Piekarsky and Carson Haskins added singles wins for the Hoosiers.
"I liked the way we competed today," IU head coach Jeremy Wurtzman said. "I felt like the team atmosphere was really good and that pushed all of our guys in their matches."
Up next Indiana will host Memphis on Friday January 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the IU Tennis Center.
