Postgame Notes
- The Hoosiers fell to 13-4 on the season and 3-3 in the Big Ten with a 59-50 loss on the road at Rutgers on Wednesday night. The Hoosiers still lead the all-time series 7-3.
- After falling behind, 12-0, the Hoosiers went on a 7-0 run capped off by a junior guard Aljami Durham and-one at the 15:12 point of the first half to cut the deficit to 12-7.
- Indiana took their first lead of the game as part of a 10-2 run at the 6:52 point in the first half on a junior guard Justin Smith layup, 22-21.
- IU had 12 second-chance points on 11 offensive rebounds and also scored 34 of its points in the paint against Rutgers.
- The 50 points scored by Indiana was its lowest output of the season. The Hoosiers previous low was 57 in a win (UConn, Dec. 10, 2019).
- Indiana had three players in double figures, Smith (15), Durham (10) and redshirt junior Joey Brunk (10).
- Smith scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Durham scored 10 points for IU and dished out a team-high two assists.
- Brunk recorded his first double-double of the season and the second of his career with 10 points, while grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Rob Phinisee scored nine points and grabbed three rebounds in 32 minutes
- Freshman forward Trayce Jackson-Davis scored four points and grabbed six rebounds, while blocking a team-high two shots.
- Redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter scored two points for the Hoosiers and grabbed three rebounds.
- Senior guard Devonte Green played 15 minutes.
- Redshirt sophomore Race Thompson recorded a rebound in six minutes.
- Senior forward De'Ron Davis tallied one board.
- Freshman guard Armaan Franklin tallied a rebound in four minutes of action.
- Sophomore guard Damezi Anderson grabbed a rebound in four minutes.
- IU will be on the road for the second time this week when they travel to Nebraska at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Hoosiers won the first matchup of the season against the Cornhuskers in overtime, 96-90.
